Description

This is the dissertation module for the MA Education, Gender and International Development.Ìý

The dissertation module aims to enable students to understand the contested nature of social/educational research (as applied to international development) and apply their learning by way of preparation and submission of a dissertation.Ìý

The module consists of a series of taught elements and supervision sessions to support students to conduct a small-scale study (such as that for their dissertation). Ìý

Please note: EGID dissertations must combine a focus on education and gender and international development. You will have plenty of opportunity to discuss your topic ideas during the taught elements in term 1 and in term 2.Ìý

Students are expected to submit an account of their small-scale study by way of a dissertation. This is a maximum of 19,000 words and includes a write-up of the research, a research proposal and a focused summary of the study.Ìý
