Description

This module engages directly with the Digital Economy which has triggered new and emerging digital trends, and the emergence of new business models across the media and creative industries landscape in the past decade. It prepares students for an ever-changing and disrupted environment and encourages them to recognise, develop and exploit opportunities as they become available, and appreciate the necessary skills to work and manage effectively within this environment.ÌýÌý

This module also analyses the changing nature of the media marketplace by exploring media policy issues, established and emergent modes of production and changing patterns of distribution and consumption in commercial and non-commercial settings. It introduces students to policy debates about the media as a key economic sector and explores different contexts. It explores notions of cultural and political citizenship and consumer choice. Ìý
