Description

Students chose a topic (For example, the design of timber assemblies for robot fabrication). They then work in groups with their specialist design tutor to prepare an initial set of propositions that are first drawn, made and simulated to address material selection and alternatives, material performance and behaviour, and check structural and environmental performance. Further assemblies are then iterated and evaluated for further investigation in module BARC0060. As a strategic concern, at this stage students will be asked to consider such matters as scarcity of materials and available resources to deliver design. i.e. What is it made of, and who makes it?
