Description

An introduction to related theory for the programme is given that relates to the work being undertaken by design thesis tutors, and related work in the field including industry context. A historical background to manufacturing principles and protocols is also given. Different agendas that might drive the design of components and assemblies is discussed such as: differing industry standards, economic constraints, technical specifications and international trade.
