Description
This module is taught through lectures and highly interactive small group seminars, with each fortnightly seminar focused on a key urban regeneration debate. The main objective is to broaden students' awareness of critical urban regeneration issues, within the UK and around the world; and to demonstrate critical thinking and evaluative assessment frameworks for considering dominant 'best practices' and alternative regeneration approaches. Emphasis is placed on learning from real-world examples, and students are encouraged to draw on case studies from around the world. Patterns of convergence and divergence in 'regeneration' governance and implementation practices will be scrutinised and debated.
The module is assessed by a jointly researched and produced Podcast (assessed in pairs) and by an individually assessed essay.
