- Comprehension of Russian (Year 2) (SERS0020)
For affiliate students studying at Ïã¸ÛÁùºÏ²Ê in Term 1 only.
Affiliate students may take both Use of Russian (Year 2) (Grammar, Writing, Oral) and Comprehension of Russian (Year 2) (Russian-English Translation, Aural Comprehension), or one of them, depending on the skills that need to be improved. The two modules build on a base in Russian achieved at your home university through study at upper intermediate level and leading towards a more advanced level of Russian.
Aims: To develop students' command of Russian at an upper intermediate level and leading towards a more advanced level. To develop productive skills of writing and speaking. To consolidate and further develop a knowledge of grammar and syntax, lexis, register and style, as well as language awareness and language learning skills. To acquaint students with a wide range of authentic language materials, to develop skills of working with texts, and to enhance students' knowledge and understanding of Russian life and culture through the materials studied.
