Module Content
This module will provide an anthropological perspective on collaborative practice and will introduce key concepts and ideas for collaborative working and the setting up of collaborative ventures.ÌýÌý
You will consider how collaboration brings into motion existing social relationships, and learn to explore structural issues (gender, class, capital, race) that can limit the potential of collaboration.ÌýÌý
You will look at egalitarianism, organisational cultures, and non-hierarchical organising in the contemporary capitalist world.
Learning Outcomes
By the end of the module, you should be able to:

Demonstrate a systematic understanding of collaborative enterprise, and a critical awareness of non-hierarchical organising and the new paradigms of organisational design in 21st century capitalism.

Critically evaluate existing organisational practices in the context of anthropological thinking.

Assemble various contrasting viewpoints of organising and apply them to the development of their own enterprise.

Demonstrate an understanding of the political, economic, and historical arcs within which enterprise work is based.

Indicative Delivery Method
Ten weeks of 2-hour classes. The classes will be a mixture of 2-hour seminar classes, and 1-hour lecture/1-hour seminar format.Ìý
