Description

The module will provide students with a strong foundation in the clinical procedures of CBT for a broad range of anxiety disorders (including social phobia, PTSD, Generalised Anxiety Disorder, Obsessive Compulsive Disorder and mixed anxiety-disorder presentations), incorporating current research and innovative developments in clinical practice. Skills-based competencies will be developed through small group experiential work and role-plays in workshops, linked to group supervision by course members and individual/group supervision in the place of work. Self-directed study will include general reading for each course and preparatory reading for each session. Web based resources will allow students to study examples of clinical therapy sessions and clinical demonstrations of specific techniques.
