Description
This module is intended to provide students with applicable strategies and approaches within clinical leadership practices, which emerge from a sound comprehension of underpinning theories of case review and peer analysis, change management, solution modelling/implementation and evaluation of impact. It is intended to allow a joined up interface between work based learning (current and previous) and academic study and research, allowing both perspectives to inform each other, and to place this within a contemporary context of the legal, ethical and organisational frameworks which influence activities and objectives in this area.
Constituent topics of study will include: evaluating organisational and management cultures, effective report writing, basic finance within health systems, principles and practice of quality improvement in healthcare projects and team management approaches and strategies
The method of delivery for the taught part of the course employs synchronous and asynchronous online content.
The asynchronous online component will consist of ten units of lessons and formative assessments. Students will then attend a synchronous online face to face day to carry out workshops, tutorials and case discussions. This will be followed by a period of study and summative assessments.
