Description
The Choral Conducting, Leadership and Communication module is intended for musicians who wish to engage in conducting and directing choral activity in schools or the community. It identifies areas for development in participants' professional practice and their theoretical understanding of choral conducting; and it explores ways forward for effective conducting, leadership and communication. The module provides a critical introduction to and development of choral conducting skills, concentrating specifically on the dynamic relationship between research and practice in the field. The module offers students the opportunity to engage in conducting workshops, to reflect on their professional practices, and to review research and theory. It is delivered in a mixed mode with face-to-face seminars as well as through a VLE.
