Description

This module will build on the skills you have developed in Case Based Learning 1. You will apply your theoretical and practical knowledge from other modules to real clinical cases. You will use a variety of sources of information to make clinical decisions, and will use reflective practice to evaluate your decisions and their outcomes.

This module builds on the skills developed in the previous year, and aims to provide students with experience in:

  • Evaluating evidence
  • Effective history taking
  • Diagnostic test selection
  • Interpretation of test results
  • Reaching a diagnosis
  • Identifying appropriate management options
  • Supporting shared decision making
  • Altering the management plan
  • Reflective practice

On completion of this module you should be able to:

  1. Use evidence based practice, person-centred care and clinical decision-making skills.
  2. Work in teams.
  3. Evaluate data.
  4. Communicate ideas effectively.
  5. Use reflective practice to evaluate own actions and learning, identify areas for improvement and suggest activities that will improve your performance in the future.
