Description
This module is taken part-time by delegates working in industry. The objective of this module is the completion of a research project which has direct relevance to the delegate’s company in the areas of development of industrial processes or the improvement of current manufacturing processes. Research can be at any scale and will include the preparation of state-of-the-art appraisals of the selected research area and its application, and the execution of the research including analysis and reporting on findings. This is the final module required to complete the MBI Masters Programme. The student will be assigned an academic supervisor and an industrial supervisor to benefit from multiple perspectives.
On completion of this module the delegate will be able to:
- Understand a topic of research which has direct relevance to their company.
- Demonstrate hands-on experience of experimental design, execution and analysis.
- Draw accurate conclusions from the data obtained and compare with the published literature
- Develop independent analytical thinking.
- Demonstrate scientific written and verbal communication and presentation skills.
