Events and activities

Find details of induction events and activities to get you started with using Ïã¸ÛÁùºÏ²Ê's libraries.

We offer various events and activities to welcome new students and get you started with using Ïã¸ÛÁùºÏ²Ê's libraries, library resources and services at the start of the academic session and to welcome students starting in January.

We also offer training sessions throughout the year to help you develop and refine your library research skills. You may have library skills sessions integrated into your academic programme timetable or you can book on a session as part of our training programme. Areas covered include:

  • Literature searching and using library resources.
  • Citing and referencing.
  • Using reference management software - EndNote, Mendeley and Zotero.
  • Using Special Collections materials.
  • Getting started with a systematic review.
  • Skills for researchers, including writing data management plans and exploring the academic impact of publications through citations, bibliometrics and altmetrics.
  • Copyright and Open Science.

The programme includes live online and face to face sessions.
