Ïã¸ÛÁùºÏ²Ê

In June 2019, the the third (LLRN) conference took place in Valparaiso, Chile. The conference is a biennial international labour conference attended by hundreds of labour law scholars from across the world. Ïã¸ÛÁùºÏ²Ê was represented by four current and former PhD students, who presented their research. Their talks were extremely well received.

The topics of their conference presentations were as follows:

• Natalie Sedacca, (PhD candidate, Ïã¸ÛÁùºÏ²Ê Laws) 'Domestic work, labour mobility and the impact of migration regimes in Chile and the UK'
• Joe Atkinson, (Lecturer in Law, University of Sheffield and PhD candidate, Ïã¸ÛÁùºÏ²Ê Laws) 'Human Rights and the Personal Scope of Labour Law'
• Dr Inga Thiemann, (Lecturer in Law, University of Exeter, PhD Ïã¸ÛÁùºÏ²Ê Laws): 'Shadows From the Past? Sex Work Regulation, Protectionist Anti-Trafficking Policy and Their Effects on Sex Workers' Labour Rights in Germany'
• Dr June Namgoong, (Korea Labour Institute, PhD Ïã¸ÛÁùºÏ²Ê Laws): 'Labour Provisions In Adolescence ­ An Assessment of The Labour Chapter Under The United States/Mexico/Canada Agreement'

At this same conference, Professor Mark Freedland (Honorary Professor Ïã¸ÛÁùºÏ²Ê Laws and University of Oxford) was awarded the Bob Hepple Award for Distinguished Achievements in Labour Law in recognition of his outstanding contribution to labour law.
