Dr Jacqueline Kinghan and Dr Lisa Vanhala author report ‘Using the law to address unfair systems’

The report explores how public law can be used to empower people to challenge unfair systems, through a case study of the Personal Independence Payments (PIP) scheme legal challenge.

The ’s (PLP) collaborative approach to public law has featured in a case study of the landmark legal challenge to the PIP scheme, a case that changed the assessment criteria for thousands of people on disability benefits.

The research was carried by Dr Jacqueline Kinghan, Head of Teaching and Learning at Ïã¸ÛÁùºÏ²Ê Centre for Access to Justice; and Dr Lisa Vanhala, Associate Professor in Human Rights at Ïã¸ÛÁùºÏ²Ê Political Science.
