Professor Helen Xanthaki awarded Senior Fellowship of the Higher Education Academy

Professor Helen Xanthaki, Professor of Law at Ïã¸ÛÁùºÏ²Ê Faculty of Laws and Director of the International PG Laws Programmes at the University of London, was awarded a Senior Fellowship of the Higher Education Academy and a Senior Fellowship of Ïã¸ÛÁùºÏ²Ê Arena on 18 September 2017.

Professor Anthony Smith, Ïã¸ÛÁùºÏ²Ê Vice-Provost, gave Professor Xanthaki her Senior Fellowship certificate in recognition of her effective high quality teaching and learning support and excellent student learning experience.

Ïã¸ÛÁùºÏ²Ê Arena commended Professor Xanthaki for clear and convincing evidence of sustained and impactful academic leadership with regard to mentoring and leading an interdisciplinary team on academics, and leading change in a distance-learning programme with large international cohorts; clear evidence of national and international leadership impact in the pedagogy and scholarship of law, particularly in her sub-discipline of legislative drafting; innovative education leadership in legislative drafting at PG, DL and professional levels as well as the first ever Legislative Drafting Clinic; and effective, evidence-informed, student-centred, education leadership that has enabled her to transform the PGLaws DL programme into a vibrant, growing, student-centred programme that has received positive feedback from students and colleagues alike.

Professor Xanthaki said:

The application of the connected curriculum to our programme offers our 2,500 students from 130 countries a unique opportunity to benefit from the academic excellence of Ïã¸ÛÁùºÏ²Ê and QMUL academics.
