The Institute of Brand and Innovation Law (IBIL) discuss on ‘Permitted Used in Copyright Law’

19 December 2016

On Monday 12 December 2016, a group of in-house and commercial media lawyers, academics, judges and policy makers held a roundtable discussion on fair use in copyright law

The discussion was chaired by Dr Daniela Simone, Lecturer in Law at Ïã¸ÛÁùºÏ²Ê Faculty of Laws, and guided by papers from Dr Ilanah Fhima, Reader at Ïã¸ÛÁùºÏ²Ê Laws, Dr Guy Pessach (Hebrew University of Jerusalem) and Professor Ruth Okediji (University of Minnesota). The discussion touched on comparative, jurisprudential and international issues in copyright law, as well as practical aspects of how fair use/dealing works in the UK and US.

The event was possible thanks to generous support from a Seas and Currents award for Ïã¸ÛÁùºÏ²Ê’s Global Engagement Fund and from the Institute of Brand and Innovation Law.
