The President of Cyprus delivers lecture at Ïã¸ÛÁùºÏ²Ê Laws

The President of Cyprus and alumnus of Ïã¸ÛÁùºÏ²Ê Laws, Nicos Anastasiades, visited Bentham House on Thursday 16 January to deliver a lecture: ‘The Evolution of Shipping Law’.
The lecture, which was given in the faculty’s famous Moot Court, was introduced by Dean of Laws, Professor Dame Hazel Genn, and Ïã¸ÛÁùºÏ²Ê President and Provost, Professor Michael Arthur.
Speaking at the event, the President said: “I am indeed very pleased and honoured to be invited today at this event held in a prestigious academic Institution, in which I had the unique chance to pursue my postgraduate studies in Maritime Law some 45 years ago, back in 1970-1971.
Studying maritime law at that time was innovative and interesting, but most importantly gave me the opportunity to think outside the box, since shipping is a Global Industry with cognitive thinking and in many cases, chaotic harmony.â€
President Anastasiades presented Professor Genn with a model ship in recognition of of the occasion.
