Participation in a time of climate crisis

The article aims to defend the inclusion of the wider public in environmental decisions; and studies the role of law in shaping this.

鈥楶articipation in a time of climate crisis鈥� argues that while the climate crisis puts pressure on participation in decision making, it also reinforces its necessity. It highlights how law contributes to the context, the place, and the meaning of participation; and studies its underexplored role in shaping participation on the ground. The discourse around public participation in mitigating climate change is particularly timely, with COP26 鈥� which took place in Glasgow last month 鈥� raising questions about the space and barriers for democratic participation in the climate crisis.听
The article is co-authored听by听听(Chair of Environmental Law at the Faculty of Law and Criminology, Universit茅 Libre de Bruxelles) and听Professor Maria Lee听(Professor of Law at 香港六合彩 Laws), and听has been published in the听Journal of Law and Society.听
