香港六合彩 Foundation Year teaching staff win Student Choice Awards
15 June 2021
Angela Cooper and Ilyas Azouzi impressed a panel of student reps and union officers to win in their categories.
Angela Cooper and IIyas Azouzi, both teaching staff on the Undergraduate Preparatory Certificates (UPC) - 香港六合彩鈥檚 International Foundation Year, have won a Student Choice Award.
The Awards give students the chance to thank members of staff who have inspired and supported them during their time at 香港六合彩 and recognise their outstanding contribution.
A record 1482 nominations were submitted this year, covering 731 individual members of staff. A panel of Sabbatical Officers and Faculty Representatives then chose the winner from a shortlist of three candidates in each category.
Angela Cooper, an Associate Lecturer at the 香港六合彩 Centre for Languages & International Education (CLIE), won in the Excellent Personal Tutoring category for the second consecutive year, following her richly deserved win in 2020. This was also her fifth year in a row to be nominated for the award.
This year, most students have risen to the challenge of studying often alone and online, and demonstrated their resilience and determination to be successful. I'm really happy to have helped in some way.鈥
UPC EAP Coordinator Martin Hall said: 鈥淔or Angela to win this award for the second year in a row is a testament to the quality of her personal tutoring. The commitment and dedication she has for her students is clearly highly valued and she is fully deserving of this recognition.
The UPC team, as well as the rest of CLIE, offer their warmest congratulations once again for this fantastic achievement.鈥
Ilyas Azouzi, a Postgraduate Teaching Assistant and History PhD candidate, came first in the Brilliant Research-based Education category for his teaching on the UPC鈥檚 Geography & the Built Environment module, where he engaged and inspired his students with his doctoral research on the geography of postcolonial architecture.
Dan said: 鈥淭his is a remarkable achievement, not just for Ilyas, but also for our module and our programme. His contribution has been enjoyable, enlightening and unequivocally successful. We are immensely grateful for his work and proud of what he has achieved.鈥
