Ïã¸ÛÁùºÏ²ÊH among country's most research active trusts

Ïã¸ÛÁùºÏ²ÊH is in the top 10 NHS trusts for clinical research activity.
With 427 research studies recruiting participants in 2017/18 - up on the previous year - and 11,418 study participants, Ïã¸ÛÁùºÏ²ÊH is ranked 7th in England according to the National Institute for Health Research (NIHR).
The annualÌýÌýshows the number of trials recruiting participants - and how many participants there are - there are at each trust.
Not included is a calculation of the complexity of the research. 1 in 6 studies at Ïã¸ÛÁùºÏ²ÊH in 2017/18 were early phase trials, which do not include many participants, yet are crucial to the process of testing new treatments.
NIHR said 53% of trusts increased their research activity in 2017/18, with 725,333 people participating in research in England in total.
