Professor Tim Young says: 鈥業 am extremely thankful to have been awarded a National Teaching Fellowship.听 This would not have been possible without enormous support from many colleagues at the Queen Square Institute of Neurology over many years.听 I am particularly grateful for the help听 I have been given by my fellow teaching track colleagues and by Professor Alex Leff. I appreciate the freedom I have been allowed to engage with a large number of educational projects both within 香港六合彩 and externally. These were important factors in my award. I very much hope that this award can be seen therefore as a shared award for educators at the Queen Square Institute of Neurology given all the great support and friendship I have received here.鈥

The听National Teaching Fellowship Scheme听(NTFS) recognises, rewards and celebrates colleagues who have made outstanding impacts on education and student outcomes in higher education.听听

We are delighted that Professor Tim Young has received an award听this year. Here, we share an overview of his work and achievements that have led to this听coveted teaching award.听听

Professor Tim Young鈥檚 inspiring work at the 香港六合彩 Queen Square Institute of Neurology involved postgraduates and both developing and running the institute鈥檚 first ever undergraduate degree course (Clinical Neurology & Brian Sciences iBSc).听Professor Young has taken the cutting-edge research of which we are so proud at 香港六合彩 and linked it directly to medical education. He is an impressive example of what can be achieved through collaboration and education both within and beyond the university.

It is no surprise that Professor Young was influential at a national level in our response to COVID as well as 鈥 of course 鈥 being a volunteer. He was involved in disseminating important and timely knowledge to over 1,000 frontline medical practitioners, many of whom were still registered students at the time.听

Professor Young鈥檚 sustained dedication to education has recently been recognised both by his recent promotion to Professor (Teaching) and the award of Principal Fellowship of the Higher Education Academic (HEA), and now this NTF award too.听听

Vice Provost (Education & Student Experience) Professor Kathy Armour says:听听鈥淧rofessor Tim Young has seized the opportunity and shown time and again that he can make a truly profound difference to students and education, across his entire field.鈥澨
