In this workshop, we’ll discuss the first reading we chose from your selection of inspiring texts, facilitated by the student(s) who nominated the text.
This is an open and enabling opportunity to do some close reading discussion, develop skills in ‘critical appreciation’ ask questions and try out different  interpretations.
During the workshop, everyone will be asked to nominate one further inspiring text that they think connects in some way to the selected one. In this way, we will begin to compile a map of our reading and the ideas that grow from it.
PGR Research Seminars in Gender and Sexuality Studies are a collaboration between Ïã¸ÛÁùºÏ²Ê Gender and Sexuality Studies, qÏã¸ÛÁùºÏ²Ê, and the Gender and Feminisms Research Network.
Seminars and events will be held throughout the year, based around a series of shared reading workshops but also including public lectures, social events and exchange with other doctoral networks. This will culminate in a student-led qÏã¸ÛÁùºÏ²Ê and GFRN  ‘work in progress’ symposium in term 3.
The aim of the workshops are to provide an informal and relaxed opportunity to get to know others, discuss your ideas and exchange experiences. Sessions will be collaborative, co-designed and responsive to the needs and interests of the group.
