Individual Cognitive Stimulation Therapy offers mental stimulation activities which enhance the relationship quality of people with dementia and their carers and carers' quality of life.

The iCST Dementia Training programme aims听to engage people with dementia in taking part in iCST sessions by applying the iCST Key principles, techniques and communication into iCST sessions.听

Learning objectives:

  • An introduction of iCST dementia intervention and research findings听
  • Understand the iCST key principles
  • Familiarise with the themese inth听iCST sessions
  • Apply the iCST key principles,听techniques and practice effective communication skills
  • Develop problem-solving skills听to engage the person听into听iCST sessions

  • Understand the theories of mental stimulation and听the evidence-based of iCST
  • Apply the iCST key principles, communication skills and techniques.
  • Deliver iCST to the person with dementia and train family carers individually听
  • Develop problem-solving strategies to deliver iCST sessions.听

iCST dementia training is suitable听for family carers of people with dementia听or听anyone with an interest in applying the iCST key principles techniques in iCST sessions
