We offer a variety of training opportunities that are available either at Ïã¸ÛÁùºÏ²Ê or externally designed to increase your knowledge and confidence supporting others with their mental and physical health.

Mental health and wellbeingÌýÌý

Mental health training at Ïã¸ÛÁùºÏ²ÊÌý- find out what’s available through MHFA England and who can deliver the training to you or your department.Ìý

Leading Wellbeing ConversationsÌý³¦´Ç³Ü°ù²õ±ð - this session will give managers a greater understanding of mental health and wellbeing issues.Ìý

Ìý- explore the common themes to consider when supporting others with their wellbeing in the workplace.Ìý

-Ìýthis self-paced course looks at different techniques, tools and tips that may have a positive impact upon your mental wellbeing. Just like physical wellbeing, we need to constantly monitor our mental health.

Listening skills - this interactive session will give you a better understanding of the power of active listening, the barriers to listening and increased confidence in utilising listening skills. Supporting students' mental healthÌý

Ìý- designed for all staff in university settings, who are not in specialised roles in mental health. The training aims to build you confidence in supporting students around mental health. Each session takes around 20-minutes to complete.ÌýÌý

Mental health first aid for Higher Education (N.B link specifically to MHFA for HE section on this page) - suitable for anyone who works or studies at Ïã¸ÛÁùºÏ²Ê, in particular those who are student facing members of staff.Ìý

Supporting PGR Mental Health and WellbeingÌý- designed to help supervisors recognise indicators of mental health problems and potential triggers.Ìý

Suicide preventionÌýtraining

If you or anyone is in immediate danger of hurting themselves or others: call 999 (see Crisis support here)Ìý

Complete training with the Ïã¸ÛÁùºÏ²Ê preffered supplier.ÌýDeveloped by the National Centre for Suicide Prevention, the 3.5 hour Suicide First Aid Course gives participants practical skills they can use to prevent someone dying from suicide.

Recommended for everyone at Ïã¸ÛÁùºÏ²Ê:

(5-10 minutes) - learn how to approach and help someone who you think may be considering taking their own life.Ìý

Ìý(20 minutes) - gain skills and confidence to help someone who may be considering suicide. Learn:

  • How to have a conversation with someone you’re worried aboutÌý
  • Where to signpost to for further supportÌý
