Resources to support your work environment

Equipment and workstation

Workplace HealthÌýdepartment do not approve the purchase ofÌýergonomicÌýequipment or specialist software. The decision on whether to place an order (that is, is it reasonable to support the individual in performing their role) rests with the line manager, and there is no requirement for an occupational healthÌýreport to be on file.

Please note the following process:

  1. If assistive technology or ergonomic equipment (e.g. chairs, standing desk, adapted keyboards, Assistive Software Technology) are required, please contact the Digital Accessibility Team via digitalaccessibility@ucl.ac.ukÌýfor advice and help with sourcing this equipment.ÌýThere are ways in which you can adapt your equipment, workspace and work habits for your needs - please visit Digital Accessibility Services website for more information.
  2. If other types of support are required in addition to equipment / software, for example if the injury / disability is impacting on your role and physiotherapy or workplace adjustments are required, please proceed as above (point 1) but additionally you may wish to be referred to Workplace Health:
  • If physiotherapy is required, you can complete a self-referral form to access treatment and advice.
  • If other support is required, including workplace adjustments, please (ask your manager to) send a management referralÌý´Ú´Ç°ù³¾. Our clinicians would then offer a consultation, including signposting as per above (point 1) if this was not already underway. Please note: following a management referral, a report is sent to the manager and HR Business Partner with recommendations.

Accessibility and inclusivity

Digital Accessibility services - available if you identify as having a disability or ergonomic need and require support with IT.

The Sunflower Lanyard - invisible disability scheme - The Invisible Disabilities Sunflower lanyard scheme is an initiative designed to act as a discreet sign that somebody has an invisible disability and requires additional assistance while out in public.Ìý
