Student Voice

At the Ïã¸ÛÁùºÏ²Ê Department of Geography, our students are at the centre of what we do. That's why it's so important your voice is heard. Find out more about student representation.

The Geographical Society

The Geographical Society (GeogSoc) is run by a committee of students from the Department and is responsible for arranging academic and social events during the year. See the latest from the GeogSoc.

Student-Staff Consultative Committees (SSCC)

SSCC are fora for discussions between staff and student academic representatives. They are a great chance to work closely with staff to improve the student learning experience and a big part of how together we make education better at Ïã¸ÛÁùºÏ²Ê.

Equality, Diversity and Inclusion Committee

The Equality, Diversity & Inclusion (EDI) Committee was established to ensure best practices across the department, for the benefit of all staff and students regardless of gender, race, sexual orientation, gender identity, disability, age, religion and belief. The committee grew out of the Athena SWAN Working Group which steered the department towards its Bronze Award in 2016 and Silver Award in 2022, and several students across our UG, PGT and PGR programmes are represented.
