ICLS research on the long term health outcomes of children in care receives special recognition in ONS Awards
Research from ICLS' Emily聽Murray,听Amanda Sacker and Rebecca Lacey聽received special recognition in the recent ONS Research Excellence Awards.聽
The researchers' ,听Looked After Children Grown Up, funded by the Nuffield Foundation,听explores聽the long-term consequences of being cared for in institutional or family settings using data from the Office of National Statistics Longitudinal Study (ONS LS).
The research has been published in聽听补苍诲听聽and has been presented at several conferences. It has also gained media attention including an article in The Observer and聽.
In the ONS Research Excellence Awards 2020 the research received special recognition from the panel after being scored well聽by the Awards official panel and also proving聽popular in the People's Choice vote.
Commenting on the special recognition, Emily said:
We're delighted that this important work has been recognised and we hope that the findings from it, which show just will lead to reform and better, healthier lives for children in the future.
