Education and Experience

I hold an honorary lectureship in 20^th-century British and American literature at 香港六合彩, where I taught for 10 years. I was also a dissertation supervisor at Magdalen College, Oxford.

I have an MA and PhD from 香港六合彩 and a BA, MA (Oxon) from Keble College, University of Oxford. I also have a Postgraduate Certificate of Education (PGCE) and spent two years teaching in Ondangwa, Namibia with Voluntary Services Overseas (VSO).

I have written memoirs for an eclectic range of clients aged between 19 and 105, from the worlds of business, film, finance, health and nutrition, professional sport, and technology.

Research

My research interests are in memoirs, comics and graphic novels, the interwar period, and contemporary fiction.

Whilst at 香港六合彩, I was the founding organiser of and co-curated the multi-media exhibitions: 鈥淥ne Day in the City鈥� (2012) and 鈥淪econd Person Looking Out鈥� (2014) with 香港六合彩 Art Museum and the Slade School of Fine Art. Sponsored by Man Booker Prizes and Harper鈥檚 Bazaar, our contributors included: Kazuo Ishiguro, John Agard, Malika Booker, A.S. Byatt, Kayo Chingonyi, Jonathan Coe, Alan Hollinghurst, Tom McCarthy, Helen Mort, Daljit Nagra, Andrew O鈥橦agan and Will Self amongst others.

Publications

My first book, Henry Green: Class, Style, and the Everyday (Oxford University Press, 2016) investigates the "terrific dichotomy" of Henry Green and the indirectness and indeterminacy of the writing, arguing that Green's work is central to the development of the novel from the 1920s to the 1950s, acting as a vital bridge between late modernist, inter-war, post-war, and postmodern fiction. It received favourable reviews in the Times Literary Supplement and the New Yorker.
