Ïã¸ÛÁùºÏ²Ê Engineering awarded four Future Leaders Fellowships

Ïã¸ÛÁùºÏ²Ê Engineering academics have been awarded four of a total of seven UKRI Future Leaders fellowships awarded to Ïã¸ÛÁùºÏ²Ê, and will receive government investment to support their research

A total of Seven Ïã¸ÛÁùºÏ²Ê academics have been named by the government as recipients of prestigious UKRI Future Leaders fellowships, which are designed to identify and nurture the research leaders of tomorrow and support them in their academic careers. The scheme is designed to offer longer-term support to enable researchers to explore complex problems and establish new research teams. Ïã¸ÛÁùºÏ²Ê has so far been awarded 23 fellowships, the highest number of any institution.

Of these fellowships, over half have been awarded to researchers from within Ïã¸ÛÁùºÏ²Ê Engineering

Professor Tony Kenyon, Ïã¸ÛÁùºÏ²Ê Engineering Vice-Dean (Research) said:

This is excellent news, and tribute to the outstanding researchers that I am proud to share a faculty with. The new fellows are already at the cutting edge of their research fields, and these awards will provide a superb opportunity for them to further develop their careers and perform some world-class research.

Professor David Price, Ïã¸ÛÁùºÏ²Ê Vice-Provost (Research), said:
