Five questions with Ricky Adams

Ricky Adams has joined EEE as a Senior IT Systems Administrator within the IT Support team. We asked Ricky a few questions to get to know him better.
Tell us a little bit about your background听
滨鈥檝别 been providing IT Support at听香港六合彩 since 2013,听I听was previously based at听the听School of Pharmacy and听most recently Medical Sciences. I also did听placements at Bio听Science and听The听Ear Institute.听
What do you like about working in Higher听Education?听听
I enjoy working in an academic environment听and听meeting听a听diverse array of people. Each building I have covered is very different and听it鈥檚 interesting to discover and learn听about the听history and听those听that have been and gone and left their legacy听behind.听
It gives听me satisfaction knowing the IT听support/听advice I have given a student or staff member has enabled them听to carry out their听work or听research听more efficiently and increase their productivity.听
What鈥檚 the coolest thing you鈥檙e working on right now?听听
滨鈥檝别听started听learning Python in my spare听time, I听hope to be able to put this into use eventually within my role to create scripts and automate tasks.听
Who inspires you?听
People that have left their mark in the world and made a difference through their individuality and for thinking outside of the box.听e.g.听Michael Jackson, Linus听Torvalds, Bill Gates, Steve Jobs to name a few.听
Tell us something interesting about yourself
I recently moved to听Milton Keynes;听I听like听the calmness and the cut off from London,听there are lots of lakes and fields to enjoy.听滨鈥檓听still getting听my head around听all the roundabouts and听grid system!听I听bought an听escooter听that听I ride to听and from the station,听which makes the commutes even more fun!
