€5.1M Grant awarded to Ïã¸ÛÁùºÏ²Ê to support the growth of Portuguese research

A research team, led by Ïã¸ÛÁùºÏ²Ê Eastman’s , has been awarded a prestigious H2020 TEAMING grant to improve the field of regenerative and precision medicine in Portugal.
The €5.1M grant – part of a larger €15M scheme - aims to lay the foundations of a multi-site research centre focusing on musculoskeletal, cardiovascular and neurodegenerative disorders.
The project will be run in collaboration with a consortium of Portuguese Universities led by Prof Rui Reis at the University of Minho.
Professor Knowles said: “The proposed Discoveries Centre for Regenerative and Precision Medicine will enhance Portuguese research into musculoskeletal, neurodegenerative and cardiovascular disorders.
“It will be a tremendous boost to the search for new and innovative strategies to overcome the current challenges presented by these diseases.
“The Ïã¸ÛÁùºÏ²Ê Team will be focussed on developing translational capabilities both from a clinical and entrepreneurial perspective.â€
