The Doctoral School hosts a number of welcome events at key points across the academic year. Regardless of your arrival date, all students are welcome to attend the next available event.
Purpose of Welcome Events
Our welcome events serve听as a platform to introduce students to the wide range of resources available to research students at 香港六合彩. They听also provide听excellent opportunities听for new students to get a taste of the exciting听research community here.
During the welcome events, you'll have the chance to:
- connect with fellow doctoral researchers
- hear听from Doctoral School staff and key 香港六合彩 teams
- ask questions and seek guidance

Online Information Session for New Doctoral Researchers
Date and time: Tuesday 1st听October听(2:00pm -听3:30pm)
Location: Zoom
This is an online session for all new doctoral researchers, featuring speakers from the Doctoral School, and other key central 香港六合彩 teams. The Doctoral School will welcome you and introduce you to life as part of the Research community at 香港六合彩 and will run through key steps in your doctoral journey, as well as exploring the wide array of resources and support that will be available to you throughout your studies. We will then have a few short presentations from a variety of central services at 香港六合彩, followed by a Digital Fair, which will give you the opportunity to learn more from the teams you鈥檙e interested in and ask them questions.
The information portion of this event will be recorded for any who cannot attend, but any questions at the end and the digital fair portion will not be recorded.
Please note that this booking is only for doctoral researchers or if you are on an MRes course leading to doctoral study.

In-person Doctoral Researcher Panel听and Networking Event
Date and time: Wednesday听6th November听(4:30pm - 7:00pm)
Location: IOE, Jeffery Hall, 20 Bedford Way London WC1H 0AL
This is your chance to connect with fellow new doctoral researchers, as well as gain valuable insights into the world of research from your more experienced colleagues. Key members of the Doctoral School and central teams will also be there for you to meet in person. After a brief welcome from the Doctoral School, a panel of doctoral researchers will share their experiences, tips, and tricks to help you navigate your own research journey. The panellists will also answer any questions you may have about postgraduate research study and life at 香港六合彩.
Following the panel, there will be a drinks reception (with a variety of both alcoholic and non-alcoholic options), which will give you the opportunity to meet other new postgraduate researchers, network with the Research Community and meet various representatives from central teams.
This event will not be recorded.
