Family Activity: Ancient Egyptian Literature Brought to Life
12:00 - 14:00
This family activity will start at 12 noon but the museum is open every Saturday from 11am. Feel free to arrive early and check out one of the greatest collections of Egyptian and Sudanese archaeology in the world.
Unlock the ancient Egyptian tales that have been interpreted from the remnants of papyrus texts. From ‘The Lost Fish Amulet’ to ‘The Doomed Prince’ and ‘The Shipwrecked Sailor’, these stories may not have an end or beginning.
The missing parts of these papyrus texts will provide a jumping-off point for you to invent your own possible beginnings and endings.
Join super storyteller Helen Stewart to search the Petrie Museum and see if something in our collection can finish off the unfinished.
There is step-free access to the Petrie Museum via the lift in the Ïã¸ÛÁùºÏ²Ê Science Library, and the majority of the Museum is accessible.
