Ïã¸ÛÁùºÏ²Ê

Congratulations were extended to Dr Han Wu, Research Laboratories Manager at Ïã¸ÛÁùºÏ²Ê Chemical Engineering, who was awarded the Ïã¸ÛÁùºÏ²Ê Technical Professional of the Year Award in Research at the Ïã¸ÛÁùºÏ²Ê Technical Staff Showcase 2024.

On Friday, 12th April, the Ïã¸ÛÁùºÏ²Ê Technical Staff Showcase 2024 event showcased the extensive technical contributions made by staff to Ïã¸ÛÁùºÏ²Ê research, teaching, and innovation.

Exhibition stands were arranged in the Ïã¸ÛÁùºÏ²Ê Cloisters, Jeremy Bentham Room, and Haldane room, displaying the work of Ïã¸ÛÁùºÏ²Ê technical staff, and talks were held throughout the day in the Gustave Tuck Lecture theatre.

At the event, technical staff from Ïã¸ÛÁùºÏ²Ê Chemical Engineering, the Centre for Nature Inspired Engineering (CNIE) and theÌýElectrochemical Innovation Lab (EIL) showcased exhibits demonstrating the department's work and capabilities. The technical staff included Toby Neville, Dr Han Wu, Dr Barry Reid, Dr Francesco Iacoviello, and DrÌýQingning Yang.

The showcase concluded with recorded messages from senior sponsors, Prof Ibrahim Abubakar, Dean of Population Health, and Prof Nigel Titchener-Hooker, Dean of Engineering. An awards ceremony followed, where Ïã¸ÛÁùºÏ²Ê Department of Chemical Engineering staff, Dr Han Wu, Research Laboratories Manager, and Toby Neville, Technical Operations Manager, were nominatedÌýin the following categories:

Dr Han Wu was subsequentlyÌýawarded the Ïã¸ÛÁùºÏ²Ê Technical Professional of the Year Award in Research at the Ïã¸ÛÁùºÏ²Ê Technical Staff Showcase 2024.

Prof Marc-Olivier Coppens, Ramsay Memorial Professor in Chemical Engineering, Vice Dean (Interdisciplinarity Innovation), remarked, "Many congratulations to Dr Han Wu for this so well-deserved award, for her outstanding work and tireless service to the Department and Ïã¸ÛÁùºÏ²Ê."
