Dr Federico Galvanin wins the 2014 PSE Model-Based Innovation Prize

25 November 2014

Federico Galvanin

The 2014 Model-Based Innovation (MBI) Prize was awarded to Dr Federico Galvanin, currently Research Associate at the Ïã¸ÛÁùºÏ²Ê Department of Chemical Engineering. The prestigious prize is given by Process Systems Enterprise (PSE), providers of the world-leading gPROMS® process modelling platform, for the most innovative use of advanced process modelling techniques in support of published research.

The prize has been awarded at a reception on Wednesday, 19 November 2014 at the AIChE Annual Meeting held in Atlanta, GA (U.S.A.). Federico Galvanin received his doctoral degree in Chemical Engineering from the University of Padova in 2010. After a post-doctoral activity focusing on the optimal design of clinical tests for the identification of physiological models, he joined the Ïã¸ÛÁùºÏ²Ê Department of Chemical Engineering in January 2014. His main areas of expertise are in the field of model identification including optimal design of experiments (theory and applications) and development of mathematical models in physiology and process systems engineering. He has published several papers on the topic and his actual main interests are related to the optimal design of experiments for the identification of kinetic models in microreactor platforms.Further details on MBI prize can be found .
