香港六合彩 at the Annual SEFI Conference, EPFL, Switzerland

13 September 2024

Staff, students and associates of the 香港六合彩 Centre for Engineering Education were in full strength representing 香港六合彩's engineering education research at the annual SEFI conference this September.

CEE at SEFI 2024

The 51st SEFI Annual Conference was hosted by EPFL in Lausanne. The theme this year was 鈥楨ducating Responsible Engineers鈥. The European Society for Engineering Education (SEFI) is the largest network of engineering educators in Europe and brings together leaders in educational development for engineering at university level.

The conference kicked off this year with its Doctoral Symposium, which included support from CEE staff Dr Diana Martin and Professor Abel Nyamapfene.听

Several CEE members were recognised this year; Honorary Professor Shannon Chance was elected to the SEFI board. Associate Professor Fiona Truscott was nominated in the best practice paper category for her paper听Do you need to be mad to work here? Reflections on leading extremely large-scale interdisciplinary team project modules (Fiona Truscott, Lelanie Smith). And, SEFI Vice President Professor Emanuela Tilley presented the Leonardo da Vinci Medal to Professor John Mitchell. 听This is awarded to individuals who have made outstanding contributions to engineering education with significant international influence.

We also welcomed several SEFI conference first timers (Nelia Jurado Pontes, MechEng, Ademola Odunsi, ChemEng, Justin Siefker, ChemEng, Anna Trostnikova, Faculty Learning Technologist, Teguh Dewangga, IOE, Eleni Katirtzoglou, Engineering Foundation Year, Obioma Egemonye, Political Science, and Irene Josa, Bartlett School of Sustainable Construction).听

Thanks to EPFL for organising a conference with inclusivity in mind, which allowed one staff member to participate due to the daily childcare provision. And for the most unusual conference reception venue 鈥 by the crocodiles in an aquarium!

All 香港六合彩 Faculty of Engineering staff are members of SEFI. If you are interested in attending next year or would like to know more about how the CEE can support you in your engineering education research please get in touch on centreforengedu@ucl.ac.uk
