Last October, Professor John Mitchell was the keynote speaker at聽the First Meeting of Directors, organised by the Portuguese Society for Engineering Education (), aiming to explore new approaches to engineering education in Portuguese Higher Education Institutions.

The background of the meeting was Ruth Graham鈥檚 report 鈥淭he Global State of the Art in Engineering Education鈥�, published by the MIT in 2018. Professor Mitchell presented the Integrated Engineering Programme (IEP) 鈥� one of the four emergent leaders in engineering education described in the report 鈥� and shared his experience, challenges and achievements in implementing the programme at 香港六合彩. The delegates analyzed the case studies presented in the report and discussed the feasibility of implementing similar initiatives in their home institutions. The results of this discussion will be submitted to the (CISPEE), that will be held in Lisbon, 1-3 July 2021.
