Who can use our services

Ïã¸ÛÁùºÏ²Ê Careers is dedicated to providing support for current Ïã¸ÛÁùºÏ²Ê students and researchers, (both staff and students), and to recent Ïã¸ÛÁùºÏ²Ê graduates as outlined below.

  • Current students who are enrolled on a degree or post graduate programme of study lasting at least one academic year, (including affiliate students), will have access to our services from the date that your course officially starts. (This date will be shown on your )
  • Researchers, (staff* and students), have access to our services plus a bespoke Researchers' programme of activities while employed by Ïã¸ÛÁùºÏ²Ê or enrolled on a research degree
  • Graduates who have recently completed a programme of study as above at Ïã¸ÛÁùºÏ²Ê will have continued access to careers support for up to three years to help with next steps after leaving Ïã¸ÛÁùºÏ²Ê, (based on the course end date shown on your Ìý°ù±ð³¦´Ç°ù»å)
  • Early leavers / those who don't graduate can be supported for up to three months should you unexpectedly leave Ïã¸ÛÁùºÏ²Ê before completing your course / without graduating. Please contact us if you would like to access this support. We would also recommend reading our guides on  if you are considering withdrawing from your course, and our guide on .

When attending on campus appointments / events or visiting Ïã¸ÛÁùºÏ²Ê Careers, you will be asked to provide your Ïã¸ÛÁùºÏ²Ê ID card which is issued / can be replaced by Ïã¸ÛÁùºÏ²Ê Security Services. (Recent graduates who no longer have this can also provide proof of enrolment dates with a ).

Ïã¸ÛÁùºÏ²Ê departmental staff* who work closely with students on areas linked with employability will have a dedicated contact within Ïã¸ÛÁùºÏ²Ê Careers who can help support your activities and ensure your students make the most out of the careers support available at Ïã¸ÛÁùºÏ²Ê. Please check our Team details for information on those aligned with your department or email us if unsure so we can pass on your details to the relevant member of our team.

(*±·´Ç³Ù±ð:ÌýOther current Ïã¸ÛÁùºÏ²Ê staff members, (academic and non-academic / professional services staff), who require careers support services for themselves can access training and support through the range of tools provided for career development and progression by Organisational Development and / or Teaching and Learning (Arena support for academics) and can also discuss career plans within their department through Ïã¸ÛÁùºÏ²Ê's appraisal system but, careers support would not be provided through Ïã¸ÛÁùºÏ²Ê Careers.

We also provide bespoke information for prospective Ïã¸ÛÁùºÏ²Ê students who are considering study at Ïã¸ÛÁùºÏ²Ê.


Ïã¸ÛÁùºÏ²Ê Careers Extra

Ïã¸ÛÁùºÏ²Ê Careers Extra is a programme of additional activities and support for UK undergraduate students from the following groups who are currently studying at Ïã¸ÛÁùºÏ²Ê:

  • Neither parent went to university and you went to a UK state school
  • Care experienced or estranged student
  • Carer
  • Disabled or you have a long-term health condition
  • Household income below £25,000 (as declared to Student Finance England)
  • Black British African, Black British Caribbean, British Black Other, British Black Mixed
  • Received an Access Ïã¸ÛÁùºÏ²Ê offer

Students signed up to Ïã¸ÛÁùºÏ²Ê Careers Extra are automatically added to a circulation list for targeted employer events and programmes.  They can also apply for bursaries to help cover the cost of undertaking internships and can access preferential booking for some Ïã¸ÛÁùºÏ²Ê Careers events, longer careers appointments (with easier booking) and extra careers events that are exclusive to Ïã¸ÛÁùºÏ²Ê Careers Extra students.
