The demon Mephistopheles tries to finally take the soul of Doctor Faust through telling him three intertwining tragedies across ages, universes, and worlds. Mozart and Salieri: Frustrated by the effortless meteoric success of his friend/rival/crush Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart, the composer Antonio Salieri, conspires to poison him after realising he would never achieve such heights. 

The Miserly Knight: The feud between Alber, a penniless knight, and his father, a Baron that hates him for his way of life, boils over into tragedy at the court of their Duke. 

The Stone Guest: The womanising libertine Don Juan returns to Madrid from exile, and goes on a doomed quest to seduce the widow of a man he killed, whose scorned spirit shows up to dinner.
