The Centre for Biodiversity and Environment Research (CBER) is one of the world’s leading research and training centres in ecology and biodiversity science, supporting the next generation of scholars and leaders.

Welcome

The disciplines of biological field studies and of ecology have been embedded in Ïã¸ÛÁùºÏ²Ê from the early days of both the College and the sciences themselves. From to to to , Ïã¸ÛÁùºÏ²Ê has been home to some of the most transformative thinkers in ecology.

The establishment of the Centre for Biodiversity and Environment Research in 2013 was the latest expression of Ïã¸ÛÁùºÏ²Ê's commitment to developing our understanding of the environment, both for its own sake and in relation to human health and happiness. Such understanding is central to two domains within the Ïã¸ÛÁùºÏ²Ê Grand Challenges research strategy: Environment and Food, Metabolism, and Society. Valuing and maintaining biodiversity is also central to the UN Strategic Development Goals.

Today, CBER continues to conduct ground-breaking research in biodiversity and the environment whilst training the next generation of scientists and conservation leaders.Ìý

Ïã¸ÛÁùºÏ²Ê CBER Research Department Members

Research Fellow - Postdoctoral ResearcherÌý

The main purpose of this position is to undertake ecological research exploring the impacts of climate change on health, as mediated by ecosystems.
Main duties will be to undertake research and produce high-quality publications that have potential impact on conservation policy and practice.

Funding is available to support the post until 19/11/2027 in the first instance.
The deadline for applications is 1st July 2024

The People and Nature Lab is CBER's interdisciplinary applied research and teaching partnership developing innovative approaches to tackle the challenges posed by catastrophic biodiversity loss, global ecosystem degradation and climate change, to support a more sustainable relationship between people and nature.

The People and Nature Lab at Ïã¸ÛÁùºÏ²Ê East will be offering several new innovative and interdisciplinary programmes from 2022 onwards including the MSc in Ecology, Climate Change and Health, MSc in Ecology and Data Science and MSc in Ecology and Urban Engineering.

In our single biggest development since we were founded in 1826, Ïã¸ÛÁùºÏ²Ê is expanding to east London. Located on the Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park, Ïã¸ÛÁùºÏ²Ê East is dedicated to disruptive thinking, ground breaking discovery and innovation across disciplines and beyond academic walls, to find solutions to the biggest societal challenges
