Ïã¸ÛÁùºÏ²Ê

The successful candidate will be a core faculty member in Ïã¸ÛÁùºÏ²Ê Energy Institute. They will work at the internationally cutting edge of energy systems analysis, leading teams developing and applying state-of-the-art models, undertaking empirical analysis and engaging in participatory research with stakeholders.

They will also play a significant teaching role, including as module leader on our Economics and Policy of Energy and the Environment MSc’s opening core model (Introduction to Modelling, Methods and Scenarios). In addition, they will contribute to additional MSc modules, as well as supervise a set of MSc dissertations. Finally, they will supervise, mentor and expand a cohort of PhD students.

Its aim is to help to build a globally sustainable energy system, by bringing to bear multiple disciplinary perspectives to observe, analyse, interpret and influence energy use and energy systems.

Key Requirements

The successful candidate will have a PhD in engineering, economics or other quantitative field of the social or physical sciences and a specialism in energy systems analysis. A track record of winning and delivering on a set of multidisciplinary energy research projects together with a track record of academic publications in leading energy and interdisciplinary journals is essential. Teaching experience on energy systems or related subjects and supervisory experience of PhD and MSc students, including evidence of successful completions and overcoming specific challenges in mentoring students is desirable.
