The Ïã¸ÛÁùºÏ²Ê Energy Institute’s focuses on urban transport and explores new mobility services, such as shared-mobility, on-demand services and automated vehicles, and new mobility concepts, such as Mobility as a Service. Its expertise lies on transport and behavioural models, survey design and innovative data collection techniques, big data handling, GIS, data visualization and new mobility service design.

We invite applications for a Research Associate in Travel Behaviour Modelling. As a core member of the MaaSLab, this individual has an opportunity to participate in the development and expansion of the lab’s leading work on Mobility as a Service.

The Research Associate (RA) will be responsible for developing state-of-the-art travel behaviour and demand models for new mobility services. The RA will also be responsible for designing travel-related surveys and handling data of different types and formats.  The RA should add value to the Ïã¸ÛÁùºÏ²Ê Energy Institute and MaaSLab’s research agenda by developing knowledge through engagement in funded research projects and publications.

The appointment is for 24 months in the first instance, further funding to support the post may be available. Please note that due to available grant funding the appointment will commence at the lower end of the salary scale.

A PhD, or near to completion, or commensurate research experience, which includes discrete choice modelling, survey design, and advanced data collection and handling techniques is an essential requirement. With the emphasis towards discrete choice models and survey design, the ideal candidate should be experienced in quantitative analysis, travel behaviour modelling and handling of different types of data. The candidate should have a background in transport related topics and ideally new mobility services.
