Effective from 1 September 2024,鈥�鈥痶ook over from , whose tenure was characterised by his pivotal role in supporting DPU鈥檚 community of staff and students through the challenges presented by the COVID pandemic and advancing 鈥疍PU鈥檚 global partnerships and networks.聽聽

Julian Walker has previously held multiple roles at DPU including Co-Leader of the MSc Programme in Social Development Practice, Director of the DPU's Training and Advisory Services, and the Co-Director of the DPU's Gender Policy and Planning Programme.聽

Professor Walker鈥痠s a social development practitioner whose postgraduate teaching is built from both practical engagement in development interventions, and academic research, focused on diversity and social equality, with an emphasis on gender policy and planning, disability, and child rights; urban displacement, including involuntary resettlement, and forced eviction; and pro-poor livelihoods and employment rights.聽聽聽

Professor Walker said:
