The event, joined by the UK Ambassador to Colombia, George Hodgson, along with members of the Embassy delegation, brought together DPU alumni to mark the milestone and celebrate the achievements of theÌýDPU community over the past seventy years.Ìý

TheÌýalumni in attendanceÌýrepresented a broad range of graduation years, from 1984 to the latest cohort.

Prof. Julio D Dávila, who acted as the main host, and DrÌýDaniel Oviedo presented the work the DPU has been involved with over the past decadeÌýwith Colombian partners.Ìý

The reception allowed alumni to reconnect, network and share their experiences at the DPU.ÌýThe event also showcased the important contributions of DPU alumni in various fieldsÌýin Colombia.Ìý

The gathering was also significant forÌýprospective studentsÌýjoining the DPUÌýin September. They gained valuable insights from Prof. Julio D Dávila, Dr Daniel Oviedo and other recent graduates about their chosen programmes.Ìý

Prof. Julio D Dávila said: "The reception was a resounding success. Most of the alumni who attended are still involved in fields related to their study at the DPU, including some holding prominent positions in Colombia's public sector institutions, such as Bogotá's Mayor's office. Others work with prestigiousÌýnational and international organisations like the World Bank and IDB.

Many attendees, who knew each other professionally, were delighted to discover their shared DPU connection at the event. In that sense alone, the reception was hugely successful."
