Resources and key partnerships

Ïã¸ÛÁùºÏ²Ê and its partners have a unique combination of resources that can be mobilised to support research into antimicrobial resistance.

An academic health science partnership with more than 40 higher education and NHS members, providing access to a population of more than six million people. Supports collaboration between Ïã¸ÛÁùºÏ²Ê and other academic centres such as the London School of Hygiene & Tropical Medicine and Queen Mary University of London, and partnerships between clinicians and academic researchers. 

A platform for innovative patient-oriented research across Ïã¸ÛÁùºÏ²ÊH and Ïã¸ÛÁùºÏ²Ê. Strategically committed to work on antimicrobial resistance.    

World-leading expertise in the design and implementation of clinical trials, nationally and internationally. Includes the MRC Clinical Trials Unit.

Supporting cross-disciplinary research across the health sciences, human sciences and data sciences.

A UK centre of expertise in health informatics research. Ïã¸ÛÁùºÏ²Ê is a founder partner and leads the infection workstream.    

A European biomedical research powerhouse. Ïã¸ÛÁùºÏ²Ê is a founder partner.

National and international collaborations

Strong connections to partners across the UK, particularly the Wellcome Trust Sanger Institute, and internationally.

An institutional infrastructure supporting commercial translation and partnerships with industry. Encompasses Ïã¸ÛÁùºÏ²Ê Advances, a centre promoting entrepreneurship and business interactions; Ïã¸ÛÁùºÏ²Ê Business, advising and financially supporting new business development; and Ïã¸ÛÁùºÏ²Ê Consultants, providing a mechanism to access Ïã¸ÛÁùºÏ²Ê's intellectual resources.     

A range of facilities providing expert support for early-stage drug discovery and development.     

A partnership between Ïã¸ÛÁùºÏ²ÊH, the Royal Free London and the Doctors Laboratory, providing high-quality pathology services, including antibiotic resistance testing. Provides a platform for researching, piloting and implementing new diagnostic technologies.    

Translational Research Office

Inhouse support for translational research and interactions with industry. Includes funding programmes for early-stage translational research.    

A collaboration between Ïã¸ÛÁùºÏ²Ê and the University of Oxford examining key issues in medical innovation.     

An expert centre in public engagement offering training opportunities and funding for public outreach activities.    Â
