Support During your Degree

These resources contain information about support available to students at Ïã¸ÛÁùºÏ²Ê, such as Careers Extra, resources about financial assistance, mentor schemes, and reading and writing tutors.

  • The anthropology department has a dedicated reading and writing tutor who supports students in developing these skills.
  • The anthropology department runs a mentor scheme where new students are paired with 2nd, 3rd and 4th year students who can provide friendly support and advice.
  • The Student Funding Advisers offer support, advice and guidance to students who are struggling with money management or experiencing complex funding issues.

  • This is the main undergraduate bursary scheme available at Ïã¸ÛÁùºÏ²Ê. It is automatically assessed based on students' applications to their regional funding authority (e.g. Student Finance England).
  • Ïã¸ÛÁùºÏ²Ê Careers support all Ïã¸ÛÁùºÏ²Ê students to explore career options, find work opportunities, and put together applications.

From the first day of your course at Ïã¸ÛÁùºÏ²Ê you can register with myÏã¸ÛÁùºÏ²Êcareers this will give you full access to services and resources offered by Ïã¸ÛÁùºÏ²Ê Careers.

  • Ïã¸ÛÁùºÏ²Ê Careers Extra is a programme of additional activities and support for Ïã¸ÛÁùºÏ²Ê’s UK undergraduate students from the following groups: neither parent went to university and the student went to a UK state school; care experienced; a carer; disabled; household income below £25,000 (as declared to Student Finance England); Black African, Black Caribbean or mixed Black African/White or Black Caribbean/White; received an Access Ïã¸ÛÁùºÏ²Ê offer. Students who sign up to Ïã¸ÛÁùºÏ²Ê Careers Extra are added to a circulation list for targeted employer events and programmes. They can also apply for bursaries to help cover the cost of undertaking internships. They can access preferential booking for some Ïã¸ÛÁùºÏ²Ê Careers events, longer careers appointments and extra careers events that are exclusive to Ïã¸ÛÁùºÏ²Ê Careers Extra students.
  • There is a wide range of support and adjustments that the Disability, Mental Health and Wellbeing team at Ïã¸ÛÁùºÏ²Ê are able to provide for students. All of the support services are free of charge and open to all Ïã¸ÛÁùºÏ²Ê students of all levels.
