We offer free legal advice and representationÌýon social welfare issues for members of our local community and Greater London, where we have capacity.Ìý

We can help with the following kinds of issues:Ìý

Specialist help:

  • Welfare benefits:Ìýform filling, ESA, PIP, Universal Credit, Housing Benefit, appeals, mandatory reconsiderations, representation at tribunals.ÌýÌý
  • Housing: disrepair, issues with landlords & tenancies, evictions & homelessness
  • Community Care:Ìýgetting support or accomodation from social services for a child, young person, family or vulnerable adult.Ìý
  • ·¡»å³Ü³¦²¹³Ù¾±´Ç²Ô:Ìýgetting support for children with Special Educational Needs, EHC plan issues and school exclusions.Ìý

Who We Are

The Ïã¸ÛÁùºÏ²Ê Integrated Legal Advice Clinic (Ïã¸ÛÁùºÏ²Ê iLAC) is run by the Centre for Access to Justice (CAJ) at the Ïã¸ÛÁùºÏ²Ê Faculty of Laws.Ìý

Based in central Stratford, Ïã¸ÛÁùºÏ²Ê iLAC offersÌýmembers of the local East London community free face to faceÌýlegal advice on all aspects of social welfare law including specialist advice and casework on welfare benefits,Ìýhousing, community careÌýand education law.Ìý

Ïã¸ÛÁùºÏ²Ê iLAC is staffed by Ïã¸ÛÁùºÏ²Ê Laws students working under the supervision of experienced, qualified advisers and solicitors.

Building on the Faculty’s world-leading access to justice research, the Ïã¸ÛÁùºÏ²Ê Integrated Legal Advice Clinic also provides the basis for a wide-ranging research agenda seeking answers to fundamental questions about the nature of legal needs and the links between legal and health problems.Ìý
