Annual Skills Update - self-paced
Course Description: Stay confident in your first aid skills with this convenient online refresher course, which will help you maintain your first-aid expertise and comply with HSE recommendations with this online training offered by British Red Cross. This online Annual first aid refresher course is suitable for current first aiders who wish to follow the Health and Safety Executive's (HSE) recommendation that first aiders have annual refresher training to maintain their skills and keep up to date with any changes which may happen between completing a first aid at work course and requalifying three years later. This virtual course will take around 1 hour to complete. Register today by adding your interest to this site, to ensure your first-aid knowledge stays current. If you wish to apply and have a valid First Aid Certificate then please email safetytraining@ucl.ac.uk to receive the link and an enrolment key. If you prefer an in-person experience - we also offer the IL instructor led First Aid Annual Skills Update course.
Objectives: The refresher course covers how to help someone who is: unresponsive and not breathing - including the use of an automated external defibrillator (AED) choking bleeding heavily suffering shock and burns having a seizure
Intended Audience: Eligibility Criteria: People who already hold a valid First Aid at Work certificate. All First Aiders who have completed first aid training previously and have an up to date certificate that has more than 6 months left before expiry.
