Dr Katriina Whitaker
Research Associate in Health Psychology
RESEARCH
Research interests
Katriina's PhD work aimed to elucidate causal processes underlying anxiety in cancer patients with a view to advancing psychological therapies and improving quality of life.
Katriina now works as a Research Associate to Professor Jane Wardle.
BIOGRAPHY
Katriina obtained a first class BSc (Hons) in Psychology from the University of Bristol in 2002. Following her BSc, Katriina worked with Professor Richard Gregory on The Oxford Companion to the Mind (Gregory, 2004)
and worked as a research assistant for Professor Allison Harvey at the University of Oxford, studying a cognitive model of insomnia. Katriina completed an MSc in Research Methods (with distinction) at University
College London (香港六合彩) in 2005 and completed her Cancer Research UK PhD in 2008 (香港六合彩 & Royal Marsden NHS Foundation Trust, Sutton) under the supervision of Professor Chris Brewin & Dr Maggie Watson.
Katriina has recently been awarded a Cancer Research UK post-doctoral fellowship entitled "Cancer symptom appraisal in everyday life: psychological and demographic influences".
